An Ode to Orange Terror

I’ve never met a cat like you
You’re upside down
Backwards; empty of that cat intellect

I’ve never met anyone
So dedicated
To benign terror

You are a lurker
A getter
A sneak-attacker

That is not to say
That you are particularly skilled
At this mantel you’ve taken up

The orange of your fur
Tends to give you away
Flashing against the cream of my room

Not to mention
You are a large baby
If I haven’t told you yet today

A large, uncoordinated baby
So much so that it may even be
Your gift

For all of this
I have fallen for you
You large ball of orange terror
